Fagerhult Retail has the knowledge about light and it exists in every fixture, light source and in every co-worker.  Our driving force and direction has made us one of the fastest growing retail companies in Europe with a current sales turnover approaching 450 million SEK. This is where we are today, but the journey started in 1967 in Thorsten Gustafson’s garage in Bollebygd with production and trading of domestic lighting.

When the sons Lars and Thord took over the company in 1980 they moved in to new premises. It was in the mid 80-ties retail lighting sales increased significantly. Development of fixtures as well as lighting technique and competence increased and in 1997 LampGustaf began keeping stock and distribution of light sources.

The company’s market growth and market position developed as the years passed. During 2004 the expansion of the premises began and also the work with the “Light Experience Centre” where we today can offer our visitors education within light and lighting design.

In February of 2005 LampGustaf was acquired by the Fagerhult group which resulted in an improvement of both technique and product range. Fagerhult was then one of Europe’s largest companies in lighting but mainly focused on offices and public buildings. A consequence of the acquisition was that retail lighting got a great sales network around the word and is becoming a major player on the international market.

Fagerhult Belysning was founded in 1945 by Bertil Svensson but retail lighting did not kick off within the company until 2003. The product family Zone was then developed and launched as a product specially suited for retail lighting. The acquisition of LampGustaf was a strategic move to take this development forward.

Since September 2006 our name is Fagerhult Retail. This is where we are today. Equipped with a complete range of 30 000 products and with the knowledge and service of around 65 employees in Sweden we are able to create custom made solutions for all kind of shops.
