There are some easy changes that are possible to make to reduce the energy consumption in a shop. Fagerhult Retail is launching an entirely new concept that calculates the lighting installations effect on the environment.
By using a calculation method which is especially developed for measuring effectivity of light sources, fixtures, night light, maintenance, light control and energy consumption, any lighting concept may be evalueted from an environmental perspective. The shop concept will then be graded on a scale from one to six, where one equals ” Exceptionally low environmental impact” and six equals ” Very high environmental impact”.
The evaluation makes it easier for Fagerhult Retail to suggest actions to decrease energy consumption or verify that a lighting concept is environmentally friendly by a specially made certificate.
- We are always aiming at making an energy efficient solution as possible, says Mats Salomonsson, Design and Service Manager at Fagerhult Retail. The customer also saves a lot of money and an environmentally friendly way becomes a more usual question by the consumer.
Lighting account for 19% of the world-wide energy consumption. Most of the lighting is used in public areas, like shops. More than half of all Europe's Retail lighting is old energy inefficient technology and there are great possibilities to reduce the energy consumption.
By dusting fittings, changing light sources when needed, installing sensors and particular night light you can save high levels of energy. A lighting design with contrasts and narrow beam fittings with low effects also gives lower energy consumption.
